Course Description / Objective

The course aims at personnel from sales, configuring and service who configure, parameterize and start up intelligent process devices (with PROFIBUS-DP/PA) using the SIMATIC PDM configuring tool, as well as diagnostics functions.

We use SIMATIC PDM in this workshop in two different ways: Independently of a control system on a personal computer or programming device running Windows. Optionally as an integrated tool in PCS7, the configuring and programming tool of SIMATIC S7. In this way, SIMATIC PDM is also integrated into the SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system.

You will put your theoretical knowledge to use and reinforce it in practical exercises. On completion of the course, you will be able to use the SIMATIC PDM software to diagnose, parameterize and start up field devices.

Course Content

- Introduction and overview - Performance range of PDM – Installation and de-installation of PDM

- Communication paths - PROFIBUS-DP/PA network.

- SIMATIC PDM with integration into PCS7

- Handling of projects - Configuring the hardware - Design from the technological perspective - Deleting, managing, archiving and dearchiving projects

- Operation, diagnostics, device replacement and troubleshooting

Note

The minimum participants for per class is 6/8 paxs. If the course registration participants do not meet the minimum no of paxs, the class will be re-scheduled.

- Course registration is on first-come-first-served basis.

- Full payment has to be made before commencement of the course.

- If participant cancels the course after receiving the official course confirmation, the following cancellation fees apply :

> After confirmation is sent: 100% of order value

> Non Attendance after receiving an official course confirmation, no-show fee of 100% of the course fee will be imposed

If Siemens cancels a Training without offering a replacement, Siemens will provide full refund. If Siemens postpones a Training, the postponement is deemed accepted unless participant cancels the Training within 3 days of receiving the notice; in case of cancellation, Siemens will provide a full refund. Certificates will only be issued to participants with 75% attendance and course fee fully paid to Siemens. Please choose mode of payment when you register your course.
